Kalen's Room

It's been a while since I've posted pictures of the house, here are some picture's of Kalen's nursery.

We have a double bed in there for guests. It is nice that the room is big enough to fit both a bed and crib.

The room's theme is Peter Rabbit.

I think this is my favorite room in the house right now. I love the color of the walls and the wood floors!

I'll put up some pictures of Tyler's room soon.

More Scrap Pages

Here are a few more scrapbook pages that I have done recently. The pictures I took of them didn't come out the greatest, sorry.

edited: I was just informed that I spelt Hawaiian wrong...whoops!

This Friday I am going to my first scrap night since Kalen has been born. I am really looking forward to a night out with the girls, and hope to get some scrapping done too. Kalen will be coming...when I told her today she smiled really big. This will be her first official crop! Such a big event...I'll have to bring the camera!

A Good Report

Kalen had her 2 month check-up with Dr. Jeff yesterday and he said that she is doing very well!

DSCF1873-1

Her nickname around here is "Chubs." She weighed in at 13lb 4oz which put her in the 90th percentile for her age, and is 24 inches long which is also at 90%. Her head's a little smaller though...only in the 25th percentile.

DSCF1881-1bw

Tyler went with us to the check-up and he liked seeing the doctor check her eyes and ears and such. I think he liked that it wasn't him having to get checked out this time!

This week Kalen has moved into her crib at night. She has pretty much outgrown the bassinet, so I couldn't hold it off any longer.

DSCF1893

She is doing well in there and is still sleeping through the night. At about 6:00 she wakes up and we just have to re-swaddle her and then she's back down till about 8:00am.

Tomorrow we are looking forward to "date night!" Our friends Josh and Jamie are going to watch the kiddos for us so we can have a chance to get out alone. We still haven't decided where we are going to eat, but it will be nice not having to worry about choosing a place that is "Tyler" friendly.

An Impromptu Trip

This weekend we took a last minute drive up to Kentucky to meet up with Mike's parents. Dad had some business near Elizabethtown and Mom had no idea that we were coming. We surprised her on Saturday morning, she was shocked!

We stayed in Cave City. That morning we went to see Mammoth Cave. It was neat to see how big it was in the cave, and I was surprised that people use to live inside of it. They had a church and a hospital inside the cave. We didn't take a long tour, just enough for Tyler to handle.

DSCF1828

It was cold down in the cave and when we walked out it was very humid. Here is a picture I got of us walking back from the cave, but my lens kept fogging up.

DSCF1829

Later that afternoon we went swimming at the hotel pool.

DSCF1843-1

It was Kalen's first time swimming...she really liked it! I took her out after a little bit so she wouldn't get too much sun, but I think she would have stayed in longer if I let her.

DSCF1833 DSCF1841

Tyler did a great job swimming too, with those water wings he was able to swim all by himself.

Then we went to get some good ole' southern barbeque!

DSCF1848 DSCF1853

There was a man singing and Tyler got up and danced a couple times. He even talked into the microphone one time saying "Thank you very much." It was cute. He was the singer's biggest fan clapping after every song.

After breakfast the next morning we went to a little park.

Then we had to say goodbye. Tyler and Kalen had so much fun seeing Grandma & Grandpa Taylor!

We are so glad that things worked out to make that visit.

Sometimes the unplanned last minute things are the most fun!

2 Month's Old

Kalen is now two month's old!

DSCF1746-1

She is getting so big! Look at those chubby cheeks!

 DSCF1756-1

I have been taking 12 pictures on the twelfth every month since she was born. Jamie gave me the idea since her birthday is on the 12th. It is going to be a great way to document her first year. Here is a scrapbook page I made with Scrapblog for this month.

I haven't scrapbooked the pictures I took for May or June, but I had fun doing this one and thought I might be able to do them all digital. I wonder how it will turn out if I get them printed? Anyone ever printed something you made with scrapblog...do you have any tips?

Well I am off to make Chicken Taco Rice...one of our favorites!

I've been scrappin!

This week I decided that I was going to get some scrapbooking done! So Kalen and I have been going in there during Tyler's naps.

I have also been working on a vacation album that I'm almost done with. I think this is the first time since Kalen was born that I have been able to find time to get in my scraproom. It's nice!

Garage Sale Find

cookiepress

Now that's a good "cooky" press! I don't know how many of the new plastic ones I have gone through. The always break on me after the first batch of cookies, but this one shouldn't break! My mother has had her's for years!

I didn't find much else that day, hopefully this weekend will be better.

4th of July Pictures

DSCF1610 DSCF1607

We had a wonderful time celebrating the 4th. We had the Elmore's, the Sudduth's, and the Powell's over for a cookout. There was a total of 8 adults and 11 kids!! It was a lot of fun!

We had the kiddie pool out for the kids to play in.

And the sprinkler for them to run through.

Then we all loaded up into our cars and went out to Bridge Street to see the fireworks.

DSC_0427 DSCF1621

Tyler really liked the fireworks this year!

Here are Jonathan and Tyler playing while the fireworks were going off.

  DSCF1656

I just love this picture that John Sudduth got with the fireworks behind them!

We hope that everyone else had a great time celebrating our Nation's Independence!
