Fall Decor

My favorite season is fall! I love it when the weather starts getting cooler and all the leaves start changing colors! It’s just beautiful. I love decorating the house with fall colors too! I don’t have too many decorations, but love it when I open the fall box and finding new places for it all. Today I sat down and made some new decor. Do you remember my butterflies? Well I took them out and replaced them with pumpkins!

Super cute right!? Shannon taught me how to make them using an oval punch and cardstock!

So Happy Fall! I hope you enjoy decorating your homes too! :)

Kalen's Room

It's been a while since I've posted pictures of the house, here are some picture's of Kalen's nursery.

We have a double bed in there for guests. It is nice that the room is big enough to fit both a bed and crib.

The room's theme is Peter Rabbit.

I'll put up some pictures of Tyler's room soon.

A Touch of Spring

By the time March rolls around I'm in the mood to put up some colorful decorations!

Gerber Daisy's are my favorite and when I saw these at Hobby Lobby a couple weeks ago (and on sale) I just had to get them!
I put away all my Snowbabies until next winter, but got to bring this little guy out.
In the house of a pregnant lady you always have to have some chocolate, right? I picked the pretty ones in the pastel wrappers. That way I can count them as decoration.
Tyler surprised me with some flowers last Friday. He picked them out all by himself! Mike liked a different set, but Tyler was insistent on these.
The symbolism of a yellow flower: New beginnings, Happiness, Friendship. Maybe he's trying to tell me something....like he's going to turn over a new leaf and start to obey Mom and Dad so we can have more happiness? That would be nice, I can only hope!

Hopefully you are anticipating spring and putting up some colorful decorations in your homes too!

'Nano'

We have a new 'nano' here, and no it's not an iPod.

Grandpa Bob passed down his piano to us. It is a great addition to our living room (currently the only piece of furniture in there). While everyone was here for Christmas we had the guys move it into the house. Tyler sure likes it!

Tyler wanted Uncle Matt to play with him all the time. "Unnn MaTTT!!! NANO!!!!" He would yell and point wanting Matt to sit right next to him.

He is pretty gentle with the keys....thank goodness! He uses his fingers and usually only presses one at a time. Looks like we may have a little pianist on our hands. Now if only we had someone to teach him, Mike and I have no piano knowledge at all.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas...

Well we have been busy around here. After Thanksgiving I started pulling out all the Christmas decorations. It's neat finding places to put things in the new house. Not the same ole spot it's been in for the past 5 yrs.
Mike put up the lights on the house this weekend. This is our first time putting outdoor lights up and it was nice not having to do it in the snow. As you can see in the picture Mike was wearing short sleeves!!
We have also been busy doing things around the house. Tyler got an early Christmas present...a BIG BOY BED! (Thanks Grandpa & Grandma!) So we have been putting that together and just finished painting his new room last night. I will post pictures after Christmas when we should have more decorations up. He did sleep in his bed on Friday night...all night long!! We haven't been able to put him in there again yet because of the painting, but hopefully this week we will. He loves it! I just hope that the transition goes well and he will learn that when it's bed time he will have to stay in bed.

I found a queen bed on Craig's list this weekend, so now we have an extra bed for company! Now our parents don't have to sleep on the air mattress!! I know you guys are real excited about that! Sorry mom, I didn't find it before Thanksgiving, but now the next time you come you'll be sleeping in a real bed :). So this week we are going to be rearranging the bedrooms and getting things all set for Christmas. I can't believe there are only two weeks left!!

Hope you all are getting in the holiday spirit! I know I am!

Dining Room and Scrap Room

Here are some pictures of the dining room, which is open to the kitchen. You can see we fit our big table in there so that's nice. Also there are three long windows that let in plenty of light. Our pantry is in the back corner, there was no other place to put it besides downstairs, and I didn't want to walk down there every time I needed something.
Here are some pictures of my scrap room. It's not the way I would like it, but it's working for now. Mike put up that cabinet for me and I made use of the microwave cart underneath it. There is a door that goes out to the backyard, but we don't use it much. It pretty much acts as a window for me.

I still need to clean up other area's of the house so I can take pictures. But as I promised a special picture tomorrow!!! Stay tuned!

Master Bedroom

Here are a few pictures of the Master Bedroom. Again, fresh paint on the walls. I love the way this color turned out too!! Their is carpet, but hardwood underneath...hopefully to be finished one day. Tyler of course had to get in on the picture taking...such a ham. Oh and I have a story about our furniture...do you notice that we have bedroom furniture now!!! When we left Michigan we could only fit one dresser in the moving van so we had to leave the other's behind. Anyway, the day we moved in Mike was driving down the road and saw a garage sale with furniture. He got both endtables and the big dresser that match and two other dressers all for $50!! Can you believe it. So now we have bedroom furniture again, and it even matches...bonus!

Here is a picture of our main bathroom. We took off wallpaper and painted, put in the medicine cabinet and new light fixture.

Tyler's Room

Here are some pictures of Tyler's room. It has fresh paint and hardwood floors.

Tyler loves his bookshelf. Every night before bed he picks out one to read then he runs to the rocker. After we are done reading it to him he has to "pu baaa" (put it back in Ty language). And then he say night night to "turrrrtlll" (turtle on to of the bookcase) and has to give him kisses. Such a cutie.

Keep checking back as I add more pictures and by the end of the week I'll have a special picture for you!!

New House!!

Well we are finally back online and I can post some pictures of our new house!

It still feels weird that we are actually homeowners but so far we are enjoying it! There are still boxes everywhere and we are unpacking as we go, but it is coming along great. If I post all the pictures I have taken since we moved in it would take up so much space so I will just post a few here and there. And yes I will be good and start posting more often!
So here are some from the move in day. We had 6 trucks and one trailer filled up with all our stuff. It took us a couple trips, but we were done by 12:30. My dad and a lot of the guys from Mike's bible study came to help.
Later that day we even had Tyler moving boxes!!!
