Vacation in Michigan

We had a great family vacation up in Michigan over the 4th of July! We had a lot to do while we were up there and I didn’t take too many pictures. Surprise, I know! I was just enjoying spending time with the kids and family! Here are a few of the pictures I did take.

Some of the highlights: Fishing at the trout farm, beach volleyball, fireworks, feeding the ducks, cooking dinner on the campfire, the Hands On Museum, finding Petoskey rocks, boating, and Cedar Point!

Fishing

One of Tyler’s favorite activities when we were in Michigan was going to the Trout Farm. He absolutely LOVED it, and we loved watching him get so excited! At the trout farm it’s pretty much guaranteed that you are going to catch some fish! And he did catch a lot of fish!

   Look at how excited he was! He caught them for the most part all by himself! Grandpa maybe had to help him hook them a couple times, but other than that it was all Ty! It was so much fun to watch his big smile and laughing while he had a fish on!Tyler would have kept fishing all afternoon, but we had to stop him after 5 (they cost money ya know). That was enough for dinner and a little extra. Did I mention that he was scared of the fish? He wanted nothing to do with them once they were out of the water! He did touch one with his finger, but that was it! I think this is an activity every Grandpa should take his Grandson to do!! It was a Big Success!!

Home Again

We made it home from Michigan safe and sound. Had a great time with our family and took LOTS of pictures! 946 to be exact, and that was after I deleted the blurry ones!! So I’ll have lots to share soon.

Wii Fun

Tyler loved playing the Wii on vacation. Since it was cold it was a fun activity to do indoors!

He did real good with Mario Kart…except he kept trying to kit the cows on purpose.

The best was watching him box daddy!

KNOCK OUT!!

This is so much easier than the old Nintendo that we grew up with! I was amazed at how fast Tyler picked it up!

Indoor Playground

It was pretty cold most the time that we were in Michigan so we found some fun things to do inside. We went to the Chelsea TreeHouse one day. The kids could play and their was coffee and snacks for the adults! I loved that they had a padded play place for the babies, and Kalen loved it too!

   Daddy let her go down the slide and she went down with her hands in the air! Already a little dare devil!

He was on the go the whole time! He had his Uncle Matt with him too and they both kept busy!

There was another play place like this close by called Jungle Java. We went there on a Saturday so it was very busy and packed with kids. I think we need a place like this in Huntsville! It was so fun!

It’s been a while

Sorry it’s been so long since I updated! It’s been crazy around here the last part of March. So I will try to get back into updating regularly. There is a lot I could update with, but I’m going to start with the most exciting news.

Tyler and Kalen want to introduce their cousin Cole!

We went all the way to Michigan to meet him just after he was born! Here is Tyler and Kalen when they got to see him.

It was so cute! Tyler was very gentle and talked to Cole in that sweet high “baby talk” voice, and Kalen was very curious.

We had a good visit while we were there and I have a lot more pictures, I hope to get them up soon!

Detroit Zoo

We took Tyler to the Detroit Zoo one day we were in Michigan. It was also my first time there. It was a nice day, not too hot, and we enjoyed walking around to see all the animals. We were so glad that Uncle Matt came with us. Tyler did not want to get into his stroller so Matt helped by keeping up with him and giving him shoulder rides. As you know, Tyler does not walk, he runs!

I got so many pictures while we were there, so I decided to put them into a collage. You can click on it to see a larger version.

The coolest part was seeing the polar bears swimming underwater. They came right up to the glass!

Playground Fun

While we were in Michigan we went up to the park in Pinckney. Tyler loves exploring new playgrounds!

He just runs from one thing to another.

His favorite thing on this playground was definately the firetruck!

It was a nice evening to be outside! Kalen liked watching her brother play! Pretty soon she will be out there right along with him.

Tyler is still doing well on the potty training. Only one accident in the past three days!

Wedding Pictures

We are home after our week vacation in Michigan. It was nice to visit with family and friends.

The wedding went well, but Tyler did not make it down the aisle. He did so well at the rehersal and was good on that day up until 5 minutes before the wedding started. He had a tantrum in the waiting room! YIKES! We tried so hard to get him to calm down, but being at the church for 2 hours before and not having a nap that day there was no stopping it. Oh well, at least we got him in the pictures.
